Daniel C. Schiavone, Jr, M.D.
Dr. Schiavone graduated with a Bachelors of Science degree in chemistry from the University of Florida in 1971. He continued his studies there for his Doctorate of Medicine degree.
Dr. Schiavone then did an internship in family practice at the University of Kentucky in Lexington, KY. He stayed there and completed a residency in pediatrics.
Dr. Schiavone was certified by the National Board of Medical Examiners and the American Board of Pediatrics after completion of his residency. He was recertified in 2009. Dr. Schiavone is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics. He currently serves as Director of Pediatrics for Virginia Commonwealth University’s Family Practice Residency of the Shenandoah Valley.
Dr. Schiavone and his wife Rosie, a registered nurse, moved to Winchester in 1978. Dr. Schiavone’s community involvement has included serving on the Winchester City School Health Advisory Committee and the Boards of Directors for Powhatan School and the Bluemont Concert Series. Mrs. Schiavone is the director of the Apple Blossom 10k and the director/founder of the Kids Bloomin Mile.
The Schiavones have six children, all now graduated from college.
